Plaster Art
Plaster is a very interesting art median there is many aspects to the art. Not as much when I used it but when a professional uses it there is such an amazing look to it, it almost looks like soft and that itself gives the art such an amazing vibe to it. Almost has the feel of looking like they're sculpting vanilla, that was my first impression when I saw a professional's piece. It's easy to color the plaster but a lot of the pieces I see are left the initial white. I wonder why that is? Not all the pieces are smooth like vanilla; some of the pieces are very rough and edgy as if it were to be like the tip of a snow covered jagged mountain. Also plaster makes it really easy for texturing real life things like animals and such, really makes the animal come to life when done correctly. The whole idea of using plaster for sculpting I personally find really cool when I see all this effort put into I can truly appreciate that. In conclusion I can appreciate plaster art by what the artist produces with it.

Holmes Glass Family
The Holmes father and son glass duo is two very well known glass artists in the community. The father Mr. Darby Holmes got all his attention by his very unique dichroic flashy designs of cacti he sorta made his symbol. His home state is Arizona so it seemed fitting and his cactus design is not the only thing that gave him his many accolades. He also makes the most impressive fully boro glass guns that are know as the "Peace Guns." Which are so insanely detailed I could look at them for days and still find new aspects to it, truly beautiful pieces of art. Darby Holmes is truly a big part of the boro community history, he even partook in the huge glass movie that was produced couple years ago. With all the fathers skills and beautiful production of his art pieces, you could see how his son would want to follow in his steps. For Caleb Holmes the son he has been in the game since he could walk. Now that he's 18, he has acquired a lot of skills and he's old enough to make some serious moves in the glass game. Every successful glass blower has there own unique designs for their pieces and Caleb's signature design is teddy bears. Which I truly enjoy, it's extremely unique and there's just such a chill vibe to a teddy bear in general. Caleb as an independent artist is well known; he has produced collaboration pieces with the top people in the game. I personally own one of his pieces and I was just talking to him yesterday about his new pieces. He has a crazy collaboration with Hoobs Glass that I'm really trying to purchase off him. Caleb works in a really big studio based out of Oregon, truly beautiful place to live. Recently he was out in Vegas for a show and a competition. He did very well at the big show (it's the biggest glass show at the moment) and then like a week after he competed in a competition called Champs and at this competition you had to make these pieces with a story and a setting. He won the award for People's Choice! Now I technically own award winning glass :) So in conclusion the Holmes glass duo are a very accomplished crew and I cant wait to see what they each produce next, I hope to meet them in person one day.
